Okay, this is something that I have just seen again, and its the final straw with me, I have to write a post on it! I really can not understand why Google (or other search engines) continued to rank website which have domains such as:
please-rank-my-site.com
online-poker-cheats-and-codes.mv
gambling-tips-and-tricks-blue-square-bonuses.uk.org
search-engine-optimization-spain-coumbia-canada-washington-afganistan.org.uk
Urgh, I just don't understand why these sort of sites are still ranking in the top 5 when you type in their associates key phrases. I mean its just so blatently spam! Now I have looked into it, its not like they are cloaking or spoofing, and its not like they are particularly good websites in terms of content or backlinks, yet still they rank.
The one that really gets me pissed off is when the description of a domain totally contradicats the TLd or domain type, see for example the Google results for online casino and online-casino. As you can see these are all .org domain names, littered with domain / subdomain spam. Seriourly, surelly someone over at Google has thought hold on a minute .org domain name stuffed with gambling terms, ah thats got to be spam! Ureka.
I am not trying to simplifying the job of the web spam team over at Google, they have their work cut out for them. But sometimes I have to wonder why obvious things like this seem to go a miss? Matt Cutts, be good to get some feedback?
