As a relatively new adopter of heatmap technology, I can only say one thing really... I wished they had been around much longer! If you haven't seen a heatmap before, then have a look at http://www.feng-gui.com/. This innovative company is providing a free plugin for our favourite browser Firefox which allows you to see where on your pages your visitors are clicking.

Having considered much of the information imparted from the SES London Organic Session yesterday morning I am not sure if I am more or less confused now about the whole rel="nofollow" issue.

I have just stepped out of the Organic Listings Forum at Search Engine Strategies London 2008. On the panel were David Naylor, Ralph Tegtmeier AKA Fantomaster, Edward Cowell, Steve Johnston and legendary moderator / personality Mike Grehan. Great one hour conference session on recent trends and info in organic search marketing. I just wanted to share with you the highlights.

Its not often that I post about something like this but honestly, I think this is one of the best and most original ideas I have seen on the web for years! I thought it would be interesting to try and compile a list of some of the most well know seo personalities in the UK. I don’t really know why I wanted to do this. Some possible reasons are:
- I thought it would be good to try and highlight some of the people who I think have been pivotal in the UK Search Market.
- I would like to get some feedback from other people i.e. readers of this post, on who they think are top seo people in the UK. Please leave any suggestions in the comments, I will add them to the list and do a little Bio on them.
- I thought it might nice resource for people researching the seo industry in the UK
- I thought it would be interesting and fun! Strange little man that I am!!

After a poor financial year with top line takings down by over 15% and a recent warning that they would have to spend over $300m to revive the company, guess what, Microsoft have made an offer to buy Yahoo!

The already huge and powerful Microsoft have for some time been struggling to compete in the online market share, a takeover of Yahoo would give both companies a 30% plus share of the market making them some serious competition for Google.
