I had to laugh... my business partner Allan sent me a link to a search forum he was busily posting away on the other day. On the forum there was a guy (who shall remain nameless because I don't want to give him any credit at all for anything) who was insisting that we knew nothing about search engine optimisation because Allan was asking questions on the forum about on-page optimisation! The guy went on to talk a total load of crap!
This neanderthal was suggesting that on-page optimisation, or for that matter HTML validation or cross browser compatibility had nothing to do with Search Engine Optimization, and that getting results in the search engines was all about how many links you had to your websites. Period. He was so convinced that he was right he pointed us towards his own company website, which had page 3 results for his main key phrases, after 10 years in business...
Got me thinking really... are there many companies out there purporting to know anything about Search Engine Optimization who do actually believe (like this guy) that all there is to it is link building? Apparently this unfortunately deluded individual wasn't taking in any of the information that was coming his way on a daily basis from all of the excellent forums and blogs out there, or perhaps he had been out of University so long that even the search engines themselves were a strange sort of new thing to him!
You probably guessed that I don't like unprovoked attacks on my business partner, and I like it even less when the attacker does not know what he is talking about!

Have your say...
