Sitelinks Added to Webmaster Tools
The clever chaps over at Google Webmaster team appear to have just added a new feature to our tool kit.
“Sitelinks are additional links Google sometimes generates from site contents in order to help users navigate your site. Google generates these sitelinks periodically from your site’s contents.” Extract from Google Webmaster Tools control panel.
Whilst it is possible for users to block site links as expected the ability for webmasters to add their own choice of sitelinks is not included. This would have been nice but it is understandable why the Google Tools team didn’t open this functionality up. Either way it is a nice addition to the Webmaster tools system and galvanises speculation that Google will be continuing to grow this tool quite possibly superseding advanced operators such as site and link commands.
