UK SEO Personalities Line Up
I thought it would be interesting to try and compile a list of some of the most well know SEO personalities in the UK. I don’t really know why I wanted to do this. Some possible reasons are:
- I thought it would be good to try and highlight some of the people who I think have been pivotal in the UK Search Market.
- I would like to get some feedback from other people i.e. readers of this post, on who they think are top SEO people in the UK. Please leave any suggestions in the comments, I will add them to the list and do a little Bio on them.
- I thought it might nice resource for people researching the SEO industry in the UK
- I thought it would be interesting and fun! Strange little man that I am!!
David Naylor - Director - Bronco

Well what can I say!? Everyone knows him but perhaps better by his alter ego DaveN. He’s probably the biggest personality in the UK SEO Industry. I’ve not actually met DaveN yet in person, (although I suspect I will at SES London 2008), but I read and comment on his blog regularly. Dave is an affiliate marketing bloke, runs a web design agency called Bronco and is a frequent contributer on many forums. He is well know for his direct personality, oh and I think he knows Theo Paphitis from Dragons Den. Lucky him!
Tim Nash - Not Sure - He is definately a personality though!

Very funny and satirical writer. Not sure he realises he is satirical but none the less his posts tend to be bloody funny.
Shaun Anderson - Director - Hobo Web

Now I have known of Shaun and Hobo for years, but until recently they were little known. Their business and website appears to be making big waves in the Search industry and its very nice to see a small and hard working Scottish SEO company go far. Oyster Web did the same. Us to, FireflySEO formally Firefly I.T. were from Scotland! You can take our country but you can never take our Freeeeee Search. Sorry that was really bad!!
Edward Cowell - Technical Director - Neutralize

Technical director at Neutralize a company who I have had dealings with on several occasions and always found to have a very good, straightforward and creative approach to search. Very impressed with them actually, particularly their PPC campaign model.
Warren Cowan - CEO - Green Light

Well, good old Warren, he’s been knocking about Search for a number of years now. Allegedly he used to work at WebOptimiser, over in the City of London, before starting up his own company Green Light. Warren has a nice way about him and a great knowledge of search, particularly for corporates.
Craig Mytton - Search Group Head - Cheeze

Okay so I met Craig at the Online Marketing Show 2007 in London Business Design Centre, a very-good show by the way! Chatted to him for a while about Web 2.0 and PPC. Again, seems to know his stuff, but they are BIG time expensive. I think their business is focused on the corporate markets.
David Fairhurst - Director - FireflySEO

He’s one of the guys here at FireflySEO. David is in charge of client care and works with our customers to develop search strategies which ensure a return on investment. I have known and worked with David for many (many) years now, he’s a bloody good guy, hard working and honest. David spends most of his time during the week optimising website and most of his time at the weekends racing turbo charged Japanese cars, three of which he has blown to pieces. Yes, he is a total nutter! Nice photo by the way Dave
Lol
As I say, this list is by no means complete so if you have any suggestions about who to add. Please do let me know, as I would like to add them to this list…

Not to sound too self promotional but what about Will or I? Perhaps some kind of Critchlow entity?
I second Lyndon’s inclusion and also nominate Ciaran.

Just to let you all know that I will be updateing this post again very-soon as it was actually a bit premature in going live (nudge nudge) and I haven’t added the names of a few other personalities who I feel deserve the mention!
Dave Fairhurst: What can I say mate, you look rather fetching.
Paul-S: Hats off to North South Media, one of my fav blogs out there. Ofcourse you were “meant” to be in the original line up and will definalty in the updated version. Actually I was wondering, do you know my good friends Chance and Peter Hoggan, also Jeff Goodwin from internetmarketingscotland? They run design-insite and I think might be friends of yours?
Richard: Two people voted for cornwallseo so guess you guys will be on the updated list. Its always nice to learn of a new SEO Company.
Hobo: Don’t worry mate, I’ll get ya link in the update
Have a beer on me!
Tom: Thanks for the heads up!

Tim Nash - Co-Founder Venture Skills
I’m noticing a distinct lack of bio
I will put it down to the fact that words cannot truly express the degree or level of my satirical intellect can truly reach. But in case people are interested in the mundane, I run Venture Skills a SERP control & reputation management company oh and my onsite and I teach a bit to.
